Annual All-Cambridge Fund-raising Auction

The annual All-Cambridge Auction is normally held at the Pritchard-Laughlin Center in Cambridge, Ohio, on the same weekend as the March Quarterly meeting, and the proceeds are used to help maintain the National Museum of Cambridge Glass.

However, for 2020, due to the coronavirus, the Auction has been postponed until the weekend of the fall Membership meeting. The Membership meeting and Auction preview will be held on October 23, and the Auction will proceed beginning at 9:30am on October 24.

NCC Members and Non-Members alike are invited to participate, either in person, or by absentee bid. Details on how to bid, where to go, etc., can be found in the Terms and Conditions page.

NCC Members may submit Cambridge items on consignment, or the items can be donated outright. The complete details are outlined below.

The photographs at right are sample of a few of the items that were part of the 2010 auction. The complete set of photos from 2010, as well as photos from prior auctions are linked below.

To get to the auction, take exit 176 off I-70, follow the road to where it comes to a "T" with US 22/40, turn right for about ¼ mile. Here's a map to the Civic Center that you can print out and take with you.

General Information

Lists of donations and proposed consignments of glass are accepted by the committee for consideration normally during the months of August and September. The committee then prepares the list of items that have been accepted for the auction and notifies the consignees around mid-October as to which pieces have been accepted. The glass must then be shipped or brought to Cambridge no later than the November Quarterly meeting on the first Saturday. Refer to the 2011 Auction Consignment Procedures page for complete details.

The committee then has the task of examining each piece to ensure that it is indeed Cambridge glass, and that there is no damage (severely damaged pieces are not accepted, and those with minor damage may be included in the auction at the committee's discretion, but such damage as is found will be noted).

The complete list of items ( 2011 Auction Catalog) is published in the January issue of the Crystal Ball newsletter, sent to NCC members. When the list is available, it is posted here on this web site. Note that the list is in "PDF" format, so you'll need the Adobe Reader® to read it and print it. If your version of the Adobe Reader® is 5.1 or higher, then the PDF file is searchable, for those who wish to do so.

The NCC keeps 20% of the purchase price on consignment items. For those items that were donated, 100% of the purchase price goes directly to the NCC. There is no "buyer's premium" charged. There are no "reserves" allowed, and all glass in the auction must be manufactured by Cambridge. Advertising material, brochures, catalogs, etc., are also acceptable if they are by or pertaining to Cambridge Glass Company. For complete information, please see the 2011 Auction Consignment Procedures page. If you have any questions regarding consignments, they should be directed to jack1746@roadrunner.com. Please reference "NCC Auction" in the subject line.

Important: You do NOT have to be an NCC member to bid at this Auction. For more information about absentee bidding, paying for items, shipping considerations, etc., please refer to the full Terms and Conditions for the Annual Auction.

Glass from previous years' Annual Auctions

We have saved some photographs of Cambridge glass items that were consigned to the Annual Auction in previous years. Unfortunately, we can't show every single piece, but there are group photos which give you a pretty good idea of the items and of the quality of those items. Each year the list seems to get better and better.
