Three tourist information centers located at Exit 178 on I70, Exit 47 on I-77, and 627 Wheeling Ave.  All centers have information on the local glass industry, other attractions, accommodations, restaurants and special events.

The Glass Pass Program

The National Museum of Cambridge Glass is a charter member of a program called the Glass Pass, which provides discount admission to many of the attractions listed below. You can read more about it on the Glass Pass home page. Glass Pass members are shown below annotated with "***".

Museums of former Glass and Pottery Companies

Since many of the companies that manufactured glass were located along the Ohio river, it would stand to reason that when Museums were founded, they would be located nearby. Here are a number of Museums dedicated to various Glass and Pottery companies, within a day's drive of Cambridge.

Since the closing of the old Tiffin Glass Factory, the art of glassmaking has been continued at Crystal Traditions located in historic Downtown Tiffin. It is the only glass facility where glass blowing, crystal wheel engraving, sand carving, acid polishing and glass repair are done on premises.

The Museum of Ceramics, which is operated by the Ohio Historical Society, houses an extensive collection of the wares produced in the city long known as "America's Crockery City" and "The Pottery Capitol of the Nation."

Glass and Pottery Factories

Within driving distance of Cambridge are a number of working Glass and Pottery manufacturers. Most offer tours and most have a gift shop. If you have the chance, be sure to visit one or more of these companies, as the tours are fascinating and something you will remember for a lifetime.
