Auction Bidding Procedures

All glass in the auction is guaranteed to be Cambridge. The Auction Committee has checked all glass carefully for verification and damage. No reserves are allowed, and no "buyer's premium" is charged.

DAY OF SALE

Any piece purchased should be examined immediately by the purchaser, and returned within five items if not as represented. All damages are indicated in the catalog; last minute changes or addenda will be announced by the Auction Committee immediately prior to the start of the auction. If no color is indicated, the item is crystal.

Frank with Dragon vase Catalog: Lots will be sold in the order printed herein. A number in parenthesis ( ) at the end of a listing indicates the number of that item available for sale. The auctioneer will announce whether such multiples are being sold individually or as a lot. If multiple items are being sold individually, a winning bidder may take any number available. If the catalog indicates "set," "pair" or a similar term, the lot is sold as such.

Terms: Payment is expected in cash the day of the sale. Checks will be accepted with proper identification.

ABSENTEE/MAIL BIDS

Anyone wishing to bid absentee, may do so by mailing their bids to the Auction Committee at the address below. All bids must be received by the end of Thursday prior to the auction to be eligible, so please allow enough time for the postal service to do its thing. They must contain the following:

  • List showing the lots desired and the maximum bid for each lot.
  • A separate check for the maximum amount of each bid. For example, if you want to bid on 3 lots, 3 different checks must be included.
  • Winning bidder who wishes their item(s) shipped may do so by including one separate check for all shipping charges. It can either be left blank or can be made out for an estimated shipping amount.
  • Stamped self-addressed envelope.

Checks are to be made payable to: National Cambridge Collectors, Inc. Bids will be executed secretly and a winning bidder will pay only the final auction price. If there are multiple absentee bids for the same lot, bidding will commence on the floor at the second highest bid, effectively shutting out all by the highest absentee bidder. Refunds for bid overages will be sent to bidders immediately after the auction. If you are not successful, you will be notified by mail and your check(s) returned to you. Items can be shipped to street addresses only. WE CANNOT SHIP TO P.O. BOXES.
